A total of 521,018 companies were removed from Simples Nacional, Brazil's simplified tax regime, as of January 1, 2019, for failing to settle their debts.

In September 2018, 732,664 companies under the Simples Nacional regime that had social security and non-social security debts with the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB) and the Office of the Attorney General of the National Treasury (PGFN) were notified. Those that did not settle their debts were removed as of this month.

How to rejoin Simples Nacional

A removed company may apply to rejoin through the Simples Nacional Portal until January 31, 2019, provided it settles its debts before that deadline. Debts may be settled with a single payment or in installments. Instructions on installment plans are available in the Simples - Services menu of the Simples Nacional Portal.
